How to dewax a surfboard?

Previously you would have to warm your surfboard by either leaving it in the sun, using a hair dryer, a bin bag full of hot water, a kettle of hot water or a number of other ideas before taking whatever your preferred method of wax scraper was, credit card, ice scraper, wax comb etc. and then scrape the melted wax off your board.
